Uzhhorod Сastle

Uzhhorod Castle is a highly detailed and impressive museum that can be compared to the quality of Slovakian museums. The entrance fee is very affordable and the inside of the castle has recently been painted, giving it a fresh and vibrant appearance. During our visit on a free admission day, we discovered that all three floors of the castle have different displays and exhibits. These include showcases of local wildlife, ancient manuscripts and books, traditional Transcarpathian attire, and a recreation of a village from the previous century. One of the highlights of our visit was the engaging and informative guide, Iuliana. She told captivating stories that brought the history of the castle to life. The castle itself has a rich history and has been well-preserved, making it an excellent blend of authentic local history and a historic sight worth exploring. Although the castle grounds are great for walking, it should be noted that there are no formal paths for strolling. However, there is a park-like atmosphere surrounding the castle. While the exterior of the castle is impressive, some visitors found the interior to be less interesting. Nevertheless, the castle is still worth visiting for its well-maintained condition. Overall, Uzhhorod Castle is a surprising and enjoyable place to visit. It offers interesting exhibits, affordable tickets, and even has a nearby café and restaurant. Visitors can expect a warm welcome and an intriguing glimpse into the region's history.
