Like any good European zoo, the Salzburg Zoo supports the concept of a natural habitat for animals. They try to keep the animals in conditions close to natural ones. The territory of the zoo is divided into zones: "savannah", "steppe", "mountains", "forest" and others. Each animal is kept in a corresponding "natural zone", which creates the most comfortable conditions for the health and life of the zoo's inhabitants.

Nice little zoo. Perfect for a morning
Some animals we could see, however the value for money was still good.
Enclosures were large and all animals seemed happy
Was expecting more after reading other reviews. Nice little zoo, but not much more than this. The price is very reasonable and fair.
Didn't get to eat there, so I can't say anything about the food.

Very nice zoo. I loved that the spaces for the animals try to mimic their natural environment (obviously is not perfect, but they aren’t in cages). Very nice place to see deferant types of animals in natural habitat like. Good for families with kids. You need to spend more than 2 hours to cover all the area.
A fabulous zoo. Do not miss. It is not huge but it is located below a mountain wall and the animals have very large and natural habitats. Visit the Hellbrunn Park after, the Wasserspiele are also nice if you have never toured them.
It was a happy surprise. A really great zoo. Super friendly staff and a really nice setup and animals. The location also offers a great view and is beer to the castle garden.

Lovely zoo. Lots of space for the animals, well maintained.
Very impressive to see Rhino's and lions up close.
One of my favorite zoos as you get so close to the animals and their habitats seem to mirror their natural habitats. Really fun for kids as they get to see the animals up close. A large selection of monkeys and large cats.
This place was great! We really enjoyed the length of the zoo as it wound around the cliff and followed the old wall. Keeping animals enclosed is never a good idea, however if we still do it then this place should be the minimum standard accepted. Well maintained, plenty of place and shadow to each animal. Child friendly with playing areas.
Very nice zoo with lots of animals. You can spend there half a day. Also the inside bar is very nice
Somewhat smaller but very very nice ZOO!

Such an amazing zoo! The animals are adorable and you can even feed some of them ( the food is 3€). The lemurs roam free and they are so amuzing to look at. Highly recommend going here, it's great!
Good zoo. On smaller side, but lots of extra things for the kiddos to do like playgrounds and the like. Easy to get to on the 25 bus, which is actually a fast and entertaining ride in and of itself
Year card is worth it! We go at least once a week with our 1 and a half year old and dog and love all that the zoo has on offer.
Can recommend to anyone with kids, dogs or just likes animals
