On the main city square there are two residences of the Archbishop - Old and New. The old building was erected at the beginning of the 12th century and was rebuilt many times. In the 15th century, the residence was rebuilt under Dietrich von Raithenau. Now it houses an art gallery. The building of the New Residence was erected at the beginning of the 17th century; today it is given over to the Sattler City Museum.

Very nice museum and exhibitions
Very interesting place to visit just beside the Dome Quartier.
Audio is WAY too verbose. It could make a very long afternoon if you tried to hear it all. Maybe I have a short attention span
Beautiful palace in classic Rococo style located in the middle of the Altstadt. For centuries this has been the residence of the Prince-Archbishops of Salzburg. It was the place where they discussed politics, lived, hosted events, dinner parties and .. Read more »via which they could easily enter the Dom next to it.

Beautiful palace. Very nice staff.
You get to see several things in one tour. It is very cool to be in the same room as Mozart started his career as a 6 year old boy.
The tour fits for both adults and children. Where the children also can dress up as in the 18th century.
Listened to some of Mozart's violin sonatas here. It was a small room, very close to the musicians, who i thought were excellent (im not an expert).
Absolutely loved this place when I visited Salzburg. There are lots of beautiful, fancy rooms you can walk through. Would recommend this to anyone!
If you love palaces museums it’s the best in Salzburg.
