The main square of Salzburg, located in the old part of the city. The architectural ensemble of the area developed by the XVII century. Around the square is the residence of the archbishop, the cathedral, burgher mansions of the XVI-XVII centuries. The centerpiece is the magnificent Baroque fountain. It was built by order of Guidobald von Thun - Archbishop of Salzburg in the 1660s. Skilful Italian craftsmen worked on the sculptures.

Nice place to visit in Salzburg. Residence is located just behind the Cathedral. The day we visited this spot, there was live music and a biergarten. Quite good!
