Piazza San Marco

St. Mark's Square is a courtyard in the Heart of Venice. Here are concentrated symbols of religion (Basilica), political power (Doge's Palace), and the judiciary (Procuracy), culture (Marcian Library). And also, from the square opens the sea, which brought glory to Venice and its emblem, the winged lion. Fourteen lions of St. Mark's can be counted on the square.
