Petřín Hill is located on the left bank of the Vltava River, in the Malaya Side quarter. The most picturesque and highest (327 m) of the seven hills of Prague is covered with legends: standing on Petřín Hill, Grand Duchess Libushe predicted the emergence of the city of Prague on a steep cliff above the Vltava, the fame of which will reach the stars.

We won’t up the hill with the funicular. A very nice ride which the kids loved. Up the hill was nothing special. We went on the tower to look at the view and went right down.

Loved the place and one of the must visit. Be carful they check tickets on the way back before exiting, make sure you have a valid ticket otherwise will be fined, not sure why they don’t check tickets at the entrance!

Beautiful park specially on the cherry blossom season. The tower is not that special but the area and funicular ride is good as a first timer. Vibrant area. Do prepare to walk a lot in steep terrain.

12/05/23: primarily a good experience and a lovely trip to the top of the Petrin, to reach the gardens and Tower. However, the funicular isn't that big and it will get packed full and the staff will squeeze you in. My advice is to get there earl.. Read more »y, try and be ahead of the queue and stand (once in the funicular) at the very front or the very back. Options are a single ticket, return ticket. Having done it once, next time I would projet a single up and walk back through the gardens.

There is little to see at the top. No views of the city from the park. Having climbed up, or taken the funicular, your best options are either to go up the tower, or walk back down to the city, enjoying the beautiful views on the way.
Atelier Petrin.. Read more » sounds and looks nice, but is a scruffy snack bar with tantalising toilets. I say tantalising because they are on floor 0, which is unreachable by lift or stairs, and the outside door is locked..

An absolutely awesome spot to see a panoramic view of Prague! Definitely take the cable car up the hill and save your legs for the climb up the tower to see those amazing views. Mini Eiffel Tower. It has beautiful view of the city from the top. It’s more beautiful at the night. It also has a rose Graden near by which is equally beautiful to sit and relax for some time.
