nikolaikirche
The oldest temple in Berlin. It is believed that he appeared in the XIII century. Services were held here until 1938. As a result of the destruction during the war, only the outer walls remained of the church. After restoration in 1981, the building began to be used as a concert hall and as a platform for exhibitions. The construction is a typical “Protestant” style building with laconic shapes and sharp tower spiers.

Such helpful staff, and a beautiful, historic landmark. It's really such a tragedy how it was largely destroyed, but the reconstruction has been painstakingly undertaken to faithfully replicate the church pre-war.

Interesting to see such an old church, but I was a little disappointed that there was so much about and from 1600– today, and so little from 1200–1300, comparatively. This is, however, not a fault of the museum but a result of the church .. Read more »
