Volvo Ocean Race is a unique round-the-world regatta that starts in Alicante and lasts for several months. It has been held here since 2005. In 2012, a museum dedicated to this event was opened, which is one of a kind. Thanks to interactive technologies, visitors will be able to feel like participants in a grand voyage, as well as learn more about the features of the ecosystems of the seas and oceans.

Good exhibit with interactive sections. Didn't know anything about the Ocean Race until today.
Most videos were in English so I appreciated it more.
Too bad the simulation is only on weekends. We came on a Tuesday. It opens at 11AM till 7PM.

It had interactive elements that my children enjoyed.
The simulator was being used by school children, and when it was free, it was explained that it was only open to the general public at weekends, which seemed a bit unfair given the museum was quie.. Read more »t and it wouldn't take any effort to allow 2 children to have a go.
I think it's a fine place to attend if you are in the area but I wouldn't go out of my way to visit.

Very nice museum, if you are a sailor or otherwise follow the ocean race. It was free entrence when I was there, so no harm in checking it out.

Definitely worth the stop since it's free. The simulator was meh and I thought the best part was the documentary playing in the back room. I'd try to watch all of that if I were you, it was around 40 min.

Amazing, interactive&modern museum so you have to be sure to plan a bit of time to listen, watch&read all the interesting stories and facts about The Ocean Race. I can highly recommend it to families with kids and people who love sea sports.

It's free entry and packed full of info about the Volvo round the world yacht race. Best bit is the 30 minute video presentation at the end of the exhibition. Worth a visit.
