Volvo Ocean Race is a unique round-the-world regatta that starts in Alicante and lasts for several months. It has been held here since 2005. In 2012, a museum dedicated to this event was opened, which is one of a kind. Thanks to interactive technologies, visitors will be able to feel like participants in a grand voyage, as well as learn more about the features of the ecosystems of the seas and oceans.

Good exhibit with interactive sections. Didn't know anything about the Ocean Race until today.
Most videos were in English so I appreciated it more.
Too bad the simulation is only on weekends. We came on a Tuesday. It opens at 11AM till 7PM.
Small museum, but a lot of information about the ocean race. Free entrance! Nice staff, beautiful views outside. Recommend!
It had interactive elements that my children enjoyed.
The simulator was being used by school children, and when it was free, it was explained that it was only open to the general public at weekends, which seemed a bit unfair given the museum was quie.. Read more »t and it wouldn't take any effort to allow 2 children to have a go.
I think it's a fine place to attend if you are in the area but I wouldn't go out of my way to visit.
A lot to see in a relatively small museum. Many audiovisuals and informative posters. Interactive navigation and steering exhibits are great for children ( and adults!) The yacht outside is interesting, especially as you can go on board and into the .. Read more »yacht to see how the sailors live!

Lovely little museum , really great staff that were very welcoming and seemed down to earth. Only knocked a star off as it was a bit smaller than expected and some interactive exhibits weren't working. But interesting to learn about sea racing a.. Read more »nd was a nice set up. Nice place quick visit!
Very informative and interesting to those with an interest in sailing and maritime activities
Really informative and super interesting museum.
Very nice museum, if you are a sailor or otherwise follow the ocean race. It was free entrence when I was there, so no harm in checking it out.
Looking forward to see the Alicante Start in january 23.
Location very good! Reception very inviting! Presentation reasonable but not inspiring. Interactive elements out of order. Needs an upgrade overall. Let is be, coming up start in January. Good luck!
Well done to The Ocean Race for an awesome conference

Very interesting review of the ocean race and simple information on what is required of racers and yachts. A tribute video is currently being screened by the team for a team member lost overboard.
Definitely worth the stop since it's free. The simulator was meh and I thought the best part was the documentary playing in the back room. I'd try to watch all of that if I were you, it was around 40 min.
Taken into account, that it was free it was an excellent experience. Would have even paid for it.
Vey thoghral exhibition and most of it was fully functuonal.
Not very big but it is free and a good place to visit if you are into sailing and ocean race
Beautiful setting down at the marina. Loved the museum. Exceptionally clean and very well done. You can just read the basics or use the interactive equipment for a much more in depth visit. We all really enjoyed it and it is free. Shame there was no .. Read more »one else there. Well worth a visit.
Amazing, interactive&modern museum so you have to be sure to plan a bit of time to listen, watch&read all the interesting stories and facts about The Ocean Race. I can highly recommend it to families with kids and people who love sea sports.
I was not expecting much from this museum but i was wrong
Staff is friendly and knowledgeable and even made the effort of making the visit in perfect French
Material is great if you are interested in sports, technology or modern adventures
A nice place to visit and pass an hour. Really niche free attraction with some displays and installations relating to round the world ocean sailing.
A must-see, even if you are not a sailor!
It was a very well presented exhibition with a mix of visual, interactive and detailed displays. The film was extremely well done and brought the whole race experience to life. As an experienced amateur sa.. Read more »ilor, I thought the museum was excellent. Free admission.
Visits on-board the yacht are only possible at the weekends, which was disappointing ?
Very unfortunate that the café is now permanently closed, though understandable given Covid.
It's free entry and packed full of info about the Volvo round the world yacht race. Best bit is the 30 minute video presentation at the end of the exhibition. Worth a visit.
Great location and all for free. I recommend visiting and getting to know this great race.
Great little museum. It confirmed that I will never, ever be an ocean racer!

Lovely place. I love that race
The simulator is not available. There is a video game that doesn't work too.
A well set out museum with plenty of interactive things for adults to play with. I don't think it will suit children unless they are interested in sailing.

Free entry. Tells the story of the origins of The Ocen Race and the crews who take part. There is a simulator which gives you an idea of how the crews live throughout the race. The simulator wasn't in use when we visited, due to Covid restrictio.. Read more »ns, non the less, an interesting visit.
