An archipelago of small five islands, on which Venetian glass products have been manufactured for hundreds of years. From here glassmaking spread throughout Venice. On the island you can watch the process of creating masterpieces or visit one of the many shops offering local craftsmen's products for every taste. Murano glass is a well-known global brand, highly valued outside of Italy.
If you like to see how things are made (in this case hand made glass) it's the place to be. You can visit a family factory and be amazed by the work of the Maestros. Then you can enjoy a nice meal and a good coffee.
So many lovely glass shops! Great for souvenirs! The island was super quiet when I went (around 5-6pm). Got the vaporetto day pass for €25 and chose to stop off here. Glad I did not do a tour. Was nice to explore on my own. Don’t need more.. Read more » than a couple hours here.
A very beautiful Island right next to the city of Venice; only a 10 minute boat ride!
Lots of interesting glass shops, restaurants, and gelato shops!
Definitely worth a visit!
Very easy to reach by boat, Murano is a nice option to spend an afternoon if you have extra time in Venice. There’s no need for expensive tours, from the pier F.te Nove “B”, you can take the ferry 4.1 for just $5,00; the journey tak.. Read more »es around 8 minutes. Once you are there, you can watch a glass blow presentation for about $15. There’s not much else to do other than that, just walk along the canals, admiring the little houses, boats, colors and the whole atmosphere of the place.

Wonderful island. Recommend to take the trip if in venice. Also take the glass factory tour with demo on how glass its created.
Very crowded bus station from Venice to Murano. Would recommend to go early in the morning to avoid long queue. Many glass stores and was able to see their factory at the back of their store. Other than that, lovely island and worth a visit.
Colorful little island off Venice. It can get really windy on rainy days so take note it can be cold. The island is full of glass shops that sell "Murano" glass. Do note that most of the glass on the island is now made else where (mass prod.. A very beautiful place famous for the glass industry, and it has many beautiful scenery and wonderful places. You can go there by public transportation or through tour groups that will take you on a tour to the glass factory to see an interesting sho.. Read more »w on how it is made.
Beautifully built , consists small colourful houses. Very catchy houses . Great place to spend weekend with family and friends.
A nice place to go if you have time. The experience is fun. Don’t feel obliged to buy from the factory you take the tour, you may find the same cheaper products in shops ;)
Must go if you’re on a 2-3 day Venice trip. Do not buy the glass items from the factory or shop you see right at the water boat stop. Walk a little further to find better deals.
A must if you are visiting Venice
Murano was a lot bigger than anticipated all shops selling glass ornaments
Stunning island 15 minutes from mainland Venice famous for glassmaking.
If you want to get away from the crowds, this is the place to be.

Only about 10-15 minute vaparetto ride from Venice to Murano. The closest island of the main three on the tourist maps.

Must visit island if you are travelling Venice. Sublime architecture. And try shopping some from their amazing own made glass products. I found those cheaper than I thought before.
You need to go before 5 pm
All shops close early

Lovely island at the north of Central Venice, reachable by vaporetto in just 20 mins, here you can find many artisan shops specialised in the famous murano glass, beautiful, lovely and expensive. I recommend the visit if you have enough time in Venic.. Read more »e, maybe half day is enough.

If you visit Venice you shouldn't miss this island. The world glass capital.
Glass making island. 20min ride from termini.
Cool to see the glass blowing, but the island itself didn’t seem to extraordinary
Well worth a visit ahead of the crowds, beautiful.
Went here as part of our " City" tour.
Great place to see ancient glass making techniques.
Small Town with Glass making demos and strolling.
A great place for a day trip in Venice ??❤️
Worth visiting for its glass structure bldg.
Great place to stay and a great place to eat too far from the maddening crowds.
Very beautiful small town. Enjoyable glass work.

Beautiful island, worth the visit
Nice break from busy Veneza
Famous for glasswork..awesome glass products..live glass shows..
Highly recommended if you are on the hunt for handmade Italian glass works!
Sexy view point. Lots if girls hangout here and take photos.
Murano is fantastic, beautiful sightseeing and glass handcrafts but one day there is more than enough
Avoid the free offers to tour the glass making place. Way overpriced and if you don’t buy some of their overpriced glass the leave you stranded on the island.

You need to buy some glass here. Do not chump out and not not buy a chandelier. Ship to you house. There are many glass shops. I recommend one of those glassblowing workshops from airbnb.
Beautiful place. Glass production museum. Recommended
Very colorful very calm and cool
Enjoyed La Bocca del Fuoco 2020, part of Venice Glass Week, organised by Venezia Runners, dramatic way to tour the workshops and furnaces by night with plenty of action and great party to finish.
The place is nice. It's more laidback from Venice. But it is worth a visit. Don't be duped by the free tour scam. Just go to the museum and watch the demo. Spend your time window shopping the beautiful ornaments made from glass.
The shops are all the same. Glass, glass, glass, just glass. Nice but boring.
