Kontraktova Square

The area has been known since ancient times as the venue for contract fairs (hence the name). Until the middle of the XIX century, it was considered the center of Kiev. Here are several popular sights of Kiev: a guest house at the beginning of the 19th century, a contract house, the Church of the Virgin Mary Pirogoshchi, the Kiev-Mohyla Academy, the Samson fountain and other buildings.
