Kapuzinerberg

Salzburg, Austria
kapuzinerberg
In past centuries, the Kapuzinberg hill was part of the Salzburg fortification system, but in 1594 a monastery was built on its top at the behest of Archbishop W. Dietrich von Raithenau. Now the mountain is used as a place for walks and relaxation in the bosom of nature. Convenient hiking trails are laid along the gentle slopes. From the top of the Kapuzinberg, a picturesque view of Salzburg, the surrounding valleys and spurs of the Alps opens up.
