The grand building of the Roman period. Built in the II century BC. e. Located on the promenade of the Kaleici district, next to the Karaalioglu park zone. Whether the tower served as a lighthouse, a defensive fortress or a tomb, there is still no consensus on its true purpose. It is composed of large stone blocks. Height - 14 meters. The cylindrical part of the building stands on a square base. At the top - an observation deck, which leads to a steep staircase.

The tower was closed for renovations but the real visit is definitely for the surrounding areas and view points! Would definitely recommend to anyone looking to visit the Old Town / Kaleichi.. really good restaurants nearby.

Lovely view during all times of the day. This cool structure abutting the sea is a historical watch tower which still serves as an ancient heritage site. Also it serves as a big home for many street cats.
