A small island near Murano, where one of the city blocks of Venice is located. The place is interesting in that there are picturesque multi-colored houses of unusually bright colors. Local legend says that it was the wives of local drunkards who painted the walls so that the tipsy husbands did not mix up their house with the neighbor’s dwelling. Interestingly, each building is officially assigned a specific color.

Super cute! Such a unique island filled with colourful houses - loved my visit here. This was a stop on a tour so my visit here was short but there were a lot of restaurants and shops so I would recommend staying for a few hours if you can!

Beautiful little island about a 40 minute boat ride from Venice. You get great views from the boat 🛥️ of many of the Venetian islands on the way. Beautiful Italian buildings and homes and lots of window shopping. Go early in the day to beat the heat.
