Spas'ka Tserkva is a must-visit temple located in Ukraine, known for its unique Ukrainian Art Nouveau style. This beautiful place exudes a sense of peace and harmony, leaving visitors feeling in tune with themselves. The church is adorned with lacy ornamental towels both under and above the icons, showcasing the authenticity and antiquity of the region.
What makes this building truly special is its intricate architecture. The old church from 1706 is nestled within the case-church of 1845, creating a fascinating blend of old and new. Additionally, there are two bell towers, one built in the early 2000s which, although not resembling the original, is in the correct location, and the other, built in a different place, closely resembles the original. Unfortunately, the original bell tower was destroyed by the communists in the 1930s.
Despite its historical significance, this local church warmly welcomes believers and visitors alike. As the oldest church in the city, it perfectly captures the atmosphere of old Poltava, surrounded by numerous historical sites. The area around the church is incredibly serene, providing a calm escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
Many individuals praise the Church of the Savior for the sense of peace and hope it instills in them after visiting. Even though one visitor was unable to enter the church, they were still impressed by its exterior beauty. It is a popular destination for families during Easter, drawing them in with its stunning surroundings.
In summary, Spas'ka Tserkva is a unique and beautiful temple that showcases the Ukrainian Art Nouveau style. With its historical significance, peaceful atmosphere, and impressive architecture, it is a place that should not be missed.
