remuh-synagogue
Remuh Synagogue is a historic and significant place of worship located in Krakow. Visitors have had varying experiences during their visit, with some describing it as a nice place worth revisiting. Many tourists highly recommend a visit to the synagogue and the adjacent cemetery, which is said to provide an indescribable spiritual experience. However, there have been complaints about the entrance fee, as visitors were asked to pay not only to enter the synagogue but also to access the graveyard, which some found tragic. Despite the historical importance of the synagogue, some visitors were disappointed to find the cemetery overgrown and untidy. Nonetheless, others admire the simple and highly religious atmosphere inside, where they learned a lot about Jewish traditions and practices from birth to death. The synagogue is particularly famous for being associated with the Remoh, a renowned Jewish scholar, and the adjacent cemetery is the final resting place for many great sages. The historical significance of the synagogue and its connection to the Jewish community in Krakow, Poland, and Europe as a whole is deeply felt, and visitors are encouraged to appreciate the depth of the history. Some visitors had the opportunity to pray at the synagogue, while others visited during the snowfall, which added to the magical ambiance. However, there have been unfortunate instances where visitors were denied entry, such as on Yom Kippur, leading to disappointment and confusion. Some individuals have described the synagogue as a tourist trap, suggesting that the entrance fee does not justify the experience offered. They recommend visiting the old synagogue instead, which is considered more interesting and informative.

Rating a place of worship is not appreciative, but for visitors, it is important to learn what to expect (I guess that's what Google maps are for). I expected that the jewish cemetery would be well maintained, without weed and trash all over it... Read more »

2nd visit here. Historically very important. However despite a 10plz entrance the graveyard is overgrown and untidy. It's a pity to see such a historic place in this state.

A beautiful shul where you can see where the remoh himself prayed! The adjacent cemetery has many great sages from the last 500 years buried there.

Tourist trap. There's nothing to see here for what they charge, just skip it. The old synagogue is much more interesting and full of information.

This place is quite nice, but you need to pay 10 PLN to see really small room and the cemetery. After seeing all this and another synagogue, I found it not worth it.

It's a small synagogue with a small Jewish cemetery currently under reconstruction. The man who was selling tickets was smoking at the same time. Entrance is 10 zloty.
