Privoz Market is a bustling and lively marketplace that offers an incredible selection of authentic and organic foods. It may seem overwhelming at first due to its size and bustling atmosphere, but that's part of its charm. Here, you can find a wide variety of fruits, vegetables, berries, meats, fish, milk products, and more, showcasing the best that Ukraine has to offer. Additionally, you can also discover products from neighboring countries like Georgia, Moldova, and Turkey.
As the main market of the city, Privoz Market is a one-stop shop where you can find just about anything you need. It's not just a place to shop, but also an excellent opportunity to immerse yourself in the local life and get a taste of the vibrant culture. The most intriguing part for foreigners is the Meat Passage, where you can explore a unique array of meat products.
Aside from the abundance of goods and fresh vegetables available at affordable prices, Privoz Market is synonymous with the spirit of Odessa. The interactions between the sellers and customers truly embody the essence of the city. While some may caution about petty thefts in downtown Odessa, as long as you exercise caution and act prudently, the market is generally considered a safe place.
Visiting Privoz Market offers a truly exciting experience. Its sheer size and wide range of offerings, from grazed sausages to fresh fish and a variety of clothing items, make it a must-visit destination. It's easy to get lost in the market's vibrant atmosphere, spending hours exploring the various sections and discovering unique finds.
You'll be hard-pressed to find something that is not available at Privoz Market. The fruits and vegetables are particularly mouthwatering, while the meat hall may not be suitable for vegans. It's a wonderful and expansive market that offers a colorful and authentic taste of Ukrainian food and goods, all at local prices.
While the market is large and can be a bit chaotic, it's worth taking your time to explore all the stalls and compare prices before making a purchase. The market itself is fairly clean, although the surrounding streets may be littered and in need of attention. However, recent updates have improved the surroundings and added new stalls, enhancing the overall experience.
If you're planning to visit Privoz Market, don't miss the chance to witness the historical significance it holds for Odessa. It's a legendary market that showcases the city's true history. Whether you're looking for fish, seafood, vegetables, fruits, berries, herbs, or various other items, Privoz is a treasure trove. The fish rows are particularly fascinating, allowing you to interact with local women selling their catch and experience the authentic atmosphere. Just make sure to find the old Privoz entrance, as the new section may not offer the same level of authenticity. Additionally, it's important to be cautious and keep an eye on your pockets and bags, as pickpockets are known to frequent the market.
In summary, Privoz Market is a vibrant and bustling marketplace that offers an extensive selection of goods, particularly authentic and organic foods. It's a must-visit destination for anyone looking to experience the local culture and get a taste of everything Ukraine has to offer.

Huge market. From food to clothing items can be purchased here. Most of the food items from various sellers were found to be fairly fresh with sometimes price differences for the same item depending on the seller. If you are not in a hurry you can .. Update July 30th, 2021:
As an update to my earlier review, a lot has changed in terms of surroundings and stalls added to this market. The changes are remarkable and actually beautify the market! The Tram tracks and stops had been replaced and now it's like night and day compared to what it was when I first wrote my review. Kudos!

Great place! One of the main city attractions! The market-legend, the real history of Odesa. Being in Odesa we always visit it to buy some fish or seafood. As well there are vegetables, fruits, berries, herbs and different stuff - Pryvoz is large. Do.. Read more » not miss a chance to visit it, to go through fish rows to see different fish and to see and talk to local women selling it, this is the must, so authentic!
But do not mix new Pryvoz with the old Pryvoz - located at the same place they are very different. The monument to Auntie Sonya is located at new Pryvoz (see photo for monument, the entrance is under blue letters), this one is not so authentic and rather standard. You should find the old Pryvoz (see on photo - the entrance is under the white arche with black leters) - ask somebody there for the way.
!!!And be careful - keep eyes at your pockets and bags, there are a lot, really a lot of pickpockets, as at every market.
