Poltava Art Museum
Poltava, Ukraine

The Poltava Art Museum is a hidden gem in the city of Poltava. The staff at the museum were incredibly involved and made me feel welcome from the moment I walked in. Despite some language barriers, they were accommodating and went out of their way to make sure I had a great experience.
The museum itself had a great collection of art, with a variety of paintings, pottery, textiles, furniture, and sculptures. It was fascinating to see the different styles and techniques used by the artists. One of the highlights for me was seeing a mammoth skeleton, which was a first-time experience for me. However, I should note that they do charge a fee for taking photos.
There were also exhibits that showcased frozen animals and Chernobyl memories, which added an interesting perspective to the museum. It was clear that the museum is constantly updating its collection, as there were always new pieces to see.
The building itself was well-maintained and provided a pleasant atmosphere for exploring the artwork. I would recommend setting aside at least 1.5-2 hours to fully appreciate everything the museum has to offer.
Overall, if you're visiting Poltava, I highly recommend checking out the Poltava Art Museum. It's a small but impressive collection with friendly staff and a welcoming atmosphere. You won't be disappointed!
