Keep in mind that the area is popularly known as the Field of Miracles, but unfortunately, you aren't allowed on any of the grass, at least not during the summer. However, do keep an eye out for the fallen angel statue, as it is a unique sight to behold.
Piazza del Duomo can get quite busy, but the views of the duomo and the tower are worth it. Just be aware that food and drinks can be more expensive the closer you get to the piazza. Don't worry, though, as there are plenty of shaded areas to take a break from the sun.
Visiting Piazza del Duomo was a truly amazing experience for me. I visited on a sunny day in August and the square was bustling with people from all over the world. Despite the crowds, I was able to find a spot to stand and appreciate the incredible sight of the Leaning Tower. It was even more impressive in person than in pictures.
After admiring the tower, I took the time to explore the other buildings in the square. The Cathedral was a stunning example of Romanesque architecture, and the intricate sculptures on the facade were a sight to behold. The Baptistery was equally impressive, with its grandeur and elegant design.
I spent a few hours in Piazza del Duomo, taking in the beauty of the structures and capturing memories with my camera. It was truly a unique and special place, and I highly recommend visiting it if you find yourself in Pisa.
