The Museum of the City of Lodz is housed in a beautiful building with a richly decorated interior. It offers exhibits on the history of Lodz, including the story of the Izrael Poznański family and the city's transformation into an industrial powerhouse during the textile revolution. The museum is a must-see for anyone interested in the history of Lodz. The interiors are well-preserved and truly magnificent. However, some visitors found the concept of the museum a bit confusing and felt that it didn't offer enough for the price of admission. Others had a strange experience, encountering unfriendly staff and confusion about tickets. Despite these mixed reviews, many visitors enjoyed the museum and found it informative and enjoyable. The interactive exhibition and the basement part showcasing the past were particularly impressive. Overall, the museum provides a good overview of Lodz's history, but some areas lack detailed descriptions. It is speculated that the museum's funding from the European Union had a significant impact on its modern and impressive features.

This museum has got a bit of everything really. You get a bit of the Izrael Poznański family story, the story about Łódź and then a whole lot more.

Rather a strange experience overall. Was initially greeted by a very friendly member of staff on the front desk. I asked for two adult tickets on arrival as anyone would do. Was told to head to the first floor and the interior of the palace was wonde.. Read more »rful and some nice artefacts and info. We then just followed the route assuming a ticket would give you access to the whole museum. We entered a photography exhibition where there were no staff (the whole museum was pretty much empty anyway) and spent a good 20+ mins. Out of nowhere a lady approached us in a really uncomfortable manner demanding to see our ticket. I showed her my ticket (obviously without any idea I needed another) she explained that 'this is additional ticket' and was quite obviously extremely angry. It was very bizarre to be honest. I said I had just bought a ticket I have no idea, of course I would have paid for another. (Polish museums have very cheap entrance fees). The lady then walked us out of the exhibition, not to the desk to pay for another ticket or anything but simply just marched us out and get in the lift. Didn't even offer us to just finish the exhibition or anything. So confused. It was really so awkward and embarrassing. Really poorly handled. Left us feeling very uncomfortable. We just left all together.

The parts in the basement are nice and interactive. The general exhibition has almost no descriptions on what's happening.
EU money make a big impact, I'd assume :3
