The only really bad part about the airport is the drive into the airport. The traffic around the terminals is Horrendous. My last trip to the airport was to drop the kids off for an international flight. We took the 120 freeway , but the moment we reach Sepulveda Boulevard the traffic was stop and go. It took us 45 minutes to go 1 mile to get to the terminal.
So go early so that you don’t have any stress if you’re caught in traffic or better yet avoid peak, travel times and avoid the traffic altogether.

Original review: Spirit airlines is horrible. The plane ride wasn't the best which we ignored, but when we got off our first flight from Baltimore to LA, we found out our second flight from LA to Salt Lake City was canceled. Spirit's customer service was horrible and they left multiple families stranded in LA. They only offered to refund the second flight and not the first, then told us our only option is to wait here for 3 days for another flight or figure something else out on our own. They didn't cover hotel costs and shared little to no sympathy for customers. We're still stranded here and it has been the worst experience ever. The only reason I'm not putting 1 star is because I'm unsure if it's the airports fault that they have such a terrible airline and customer service.

It's one of the largest and most busiest airports you'll ever see. This airport is just as busy as it gets, lots of foot traffic inside the airport and lots of traffic outside the airport as well, lots of cabs and Uber which is very costly .. LAX isn't that bad. Getting there, and leaving there is more of a problem than BEING there. Rental car lots are super remote -- a necessary evil, but still a nuisance.

LAX works for getting people on and off planes. It is entirely utilitarian. So good job fulfilling your main purpose. -plan on a 10-15 minute walk from your gate to ground transportation-baggage claim.

-If you are picking up a rental car, the shuttle pick up area was moved to 4F. So after reaching baggage claim, keep walking past B

-there is traffic at all times of the day so best to go early for whoever is dropping you off, etc
-make sure you know which terminal you are needing to check in at. There are 6 different terminals and there aren't a very close walk from each other

Airports in general give me a bit of anxiety and they can be very overwhelming. There's people all over, there's traffic, there's different terminals, gates, and securities etc. LAX is a huge airport and one can get lost in the mayhem .. Read more »especially if you're not a frequent flier.
Luckily, for me, I fly often and I'm aware of what to do and where to go. I’ve been very fortunate to have had really good experiences at LAX even with it being so humongous. I feel that LAX is very organized when it comes to labeling where the airlines are located and which terminals they’re in, where the gates are
, where security is, where you check in, etc. I feel like all of that is very organized and has very well signage throughout.
My only issue is traffic but obviously that’s some thing that is what it is, nothing we can really control. Specifically in LA, traffic is cray cray! I definitely recommend giving yourself plenty of time if you’re not used to LA traffic or big airports so you’re not stressing out. Even though that’s easier said than done, traveling in general can be a bit crazy at times.

Interior of the airport at the departure and arrival terminals need a retouch to look new. Need more artistic view and colors to look attractive. Toilets are clean, dining area was good, not too far from security check to the actual gates and the seats near gates are good. Food court options need to be increased which includes major restaurants.
In short it’s a nice airport and has lot of scope for new things to be added.

Departure takes you over Santa Monica bay, which is a treat to see. Make sure you look South when taking off to catch a good view of Hyperion.

I was at LAX this morning for the first time in several years. I've lived in So. Cal for several decades and I have never seen the type of fog that was there today. I was able to locate the correct terminal and the only vehicles allowed in the lanes next to the terminals and the center medians are the Airport buses. I pulled up next to the center median and turned on my hazard lights and waited in the cold, wet, darkness for my brother to arrive. It ended up taking around 15-20 minutes for him to arrive this was around 5:45am. The Airport buses went around me and the police passed by a few times but never told me I needed to move or that I couldn't wait there. It's a terrible time because our 85 year old mother is passing away and both myself and my brother have our own mobility issues. Way to go! Thank you, thank you, thank you for help and not hindering an already difficult morning.

I love LAX. I can always find available flights in and out of this airport. It's hard especially now to travel for work and find accommodating flights. Everything closes a little earlier but at least they are open. You are required to wear face masks all throughout the airport which is uncomfortable but I'm glad because everyone is a little safer this way. I also like the parking structures in front of the terminals, I think they're super convenient and I use them all the time. I think that they are reasonably priced. You can find cheaper parking however, its nice to feel like your vehicle is safe and close to the terminal.
