La Triennale di Milano

Milan, Italy
4.5 / 100
la-triennale-di-milano
La Triennale di Milano is a fascinating and beautifully curated museum that showcases Italian products throughout history. The museum offers English translations, making it easily accessible to all visitors. With a great variety of exhibits ranging from timeless design to avant-garde video art and niche objects, there is something for everyone to appreciate. The museum is quite empty even on weekends, providing a peaceful and immersive experience. Visitors are encouraged to explore the gift shop, which offers unique and interesting items. The museum is housed in a visually stunning building with intricate details, including the toilets, staircase, and indoor bridge. It is recommended to allocate around 2.5 to 5 hours to fully explore all the exhibitions and take a break in the garden, which offers snacks and drinks at fair prices. La Triennale di Milano is highly recommended for all ages, offering a great experience for art and design enthusiasts. The museum also boasts a lovely park for long walks or picnics, as well as a coffee shop. Visitors can also enjoy panoramic views from the nearby Branca Tower before visiting the museum. Despite the slightly steep ticket price, the venue offers five large main rooms or sections filled with excellent furniture and installations. While some visitors may find the space exhibition lacking, the museum makes up for it with its iconic furniture exhibition. However, the distribution of the exhibits and the behavior of the guards may leave something to be desired. Nevertheless, La Triennale di Milano is a must-visit for design enthusiasts, as it constantly hosts new exhibitions and events, ensuring a fresh and exciting experience with every visit.

The constant display is surprisingly small. I would have expected to see more of the italian design over the years. I think it is not a must in your visit of milan, even if you love design (which I do)

Quite impressive interior. Design collection is chronologically ordered and it's mostly about chairs, typewriters, phones and theirs models. What surprised me a lot, that there's no obvious evolution in presented 30 years of italian design.
