The building is great and I do recommend visiting. Not all the staff were rude or unhelpful, but it just takes that one to leave a bitter taste.

Ukrainian rail road stations have a long way to go even have third world quality let alone European. The stations are very cold during winter, there is no care for passengers comfort. The doors to the station are wide open in -19C temperatures. Ther.. Read more »e are no elevators or escalators, that means to get to trains you have take some 40 steps up and 40 steps down with your luggage. This is quiet a problem for most people let alone elderly especially in frigid cold temperatures. There are seating areas for waiting passengers but it is frigid cold. There are waiting area places that are heated rooms but you have to pay (ridiculous). If you are a foreigner, good luck finding train schedule in English. If you want to buy a ticket you have to go to a specific window for your destination but how to find out when no one speaks English? All the women working in the ticket offices are career middle age with perhaps no university education. They don't speak English! Communication with them is hell. The computer screen information in ticket offices is in Russian, even your printed ticket is in Russian so which is your wagon and seat is tough to know. Not each train has wagon numbers clearly written, just another hurdle to deal with. If you purchase your ticket online, you can get a refund if you cancel your trip but god forbid if you physically purchased your ticket. To change it you get very little back and if you lose it you have to re-purchase your ticket. You wonder why they ask for your passport information every time you purchase your ticket, your information is not entered into their computer system! I am not even going to discuss the trains themselves. That is a whole different subject.

The central railway station for all national and international trains. Old station and decent size hall. You may take over bridge to cross the platform to other side of the entrance for sky bus to airport. Have lots of eateries on other side compared.. Read more » to main entrance. McDonald and KFC across the road. The platforms and tracks are well maintained clean. The announcement board is clear and platforms are marked very well. Shops are found over the crossing platform with waiting chairs.
