International Airport Kharkiv

International Airport Kharkiv is a relatively small and convenient airport in Ukraine. However, there are several areas that need improvement. The car park is poorly designed, resulting in a cramped and chaotic space with too many cars. Additionally, there is no clear pick-up area for taxis. One major drawback is that the smoking area has been closed for over a year, which is deemed unacceptable by passengers. Check-in at the airport is typically slow, causing delays for travelers. The business lounge often becomes overcrowded, leading to a lack of seating for eligible passengers. Security procedures are also slow. While some parts of the airport are modern, many areas are still under construction, and there is limited seating available. Furthermore, the airport lacks proper free internet access, as passengers are only provided with one hour of free internet before having to pay for additional usage. The airport features four departure gates, but prices within the airport are generally expensive. There is only one duty-free shop and a few cafes available. The check-in staff would benefit from additional training, as they often encounter difficulties when dealing with passengers. While the airport is generally tidy and clean, some passengers have reported encountering rude staff members. The toilets are also described as dirty and smelly, and many of the power outlets do not work. English-speaking staff members are lacking, making it difficult for non-Ukrainian speakers to communicate effectively. Some employees may continue to repeat information until they believe the passenger understands, and there have been instances of staff members cursing under their masks when frustrated. Despite these shortcomings, some passengers have had positive experiences at International Airport Kharkiv, noting the pleasant and helpful staff, as well as the overall homey atmosphere.
