Franciscan Church in Przemyśl
Przemysl, Poland
4.9 / 35
The Franciscan Church in Przemyśl is a big and historical church located in the center of the city. Currently, there are ongoing renovation works in the church as of 17.12.22. This beautiful church is definitely worth visiting, especially after the renovation. The best time to visit is during the spring or autumn, when the sunlight illuminates the interior through the side windows. The walls of the church are adorned with the history of the city, and the altar is richly decorated with beautiful ornaments. I highly recommend this church to all tourists.
The church has a renewed façade, giving it an impressive look. From a distance, the visual effect of almost marble columns can be seen, and up close, stepping inside and contemplating the interior is a much better use of time than wondering about the exterior.
The Sanctuary of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception of the Franciscans in Przemyśl, although somewhat forgotten, is a true gem of the city. The miraculous image of the Mother of God, crowned with papal crowns in 1772, is just one example of the spiritual wealth and sacred monuments that this Sanctuary holds. If you are in Podkarpacie, visiting this church is a must.
The ongoing restoration of this magnificent House of God is truly admirable. The church has been beautifully renovated, and the polychromes, including those depicting the history of Przemyśl, are truly magnificent.
The Franciscan Church in Przemyśl leaves a very good impression both from the outside and inside. It is definitely worth stepping inside and spending some time there. The late Gothic façade of the church is particularly beautiful, and the interior is richly designed.
Overall, this very old and beautiful church is truly amazing.
