I don't know much about Polish cinema, though I do know that Łódź was a big player in it. This museum has something of the history of filmmaking and video cameras and there are rooms which, I suppose, were scenes in various Polish films o.. Read more »f the past. But if you are not from Łódź, don't know much about films and know even less about the Polish film industry, then it may not be much good coming here. So, yes, a bit too "local" for me really, though interesting for others I'm sure. But at 28zl per adult ticket (as of August 2023), it's another reason to hesitate before coming.

There's a part talking about the History of cinema with a focus on Łódź, a historical part showing the building in which the museum is, a focus on Łódź's studios (for films and cartoons), a focus on the different roles on set, a part about the school of cinema and a room with cartoon sets.
The ticket is cheap and the museum is open until pretty late. The people watching in the rooms are nice and will show you how the machines work. The building is also nice, especially on the last floor in the cartoon part. In this part, children can pose with characters from famous cartoons to take pictures (Moonin, etc).
Very cool museum !
