Apteka-Muzey is a fascinating historic place located in the center of Lviv. This old pharmacy offers a unique exhibition showcasing a variety of old artifacts and tools used in the production of medicines. The atmosphere inside is quite dark, which may not be to everyone's liking. However, despite not being overly impressed, I am glad that I visited this place. It is a beautiful pharmacy with a rich history, dating back to 1735. If you have an interest in chemistry, history, or pharmacy, this is a good place to visit. The museum is small but the exposition is unique, and it is worth asking the shop owners for entry as it may not be immediately obvious. The only downside is that English translations on the labels would be helpful. Overall, it is a cool place to explore, especially if you are interested in the history of medicine or the early healthcare system. The tour is enjoyable and cheerful, making for a nice visit.

The age of the building is clear as soon as you cross the threshold as the ceiling is painted with images evoking earth, water, fire and air, the body’s “four humors”. On the tour you’ll get to know the strange medicines prescribed for ailments centuries ago.
There’s a big stash of historic lab equipment like presses, scales, stills and pestles and mortars, as well as cabinets laden with earthenware medicine jars and antique books going back to the 1700s.

You have to pay 30 Grivna to enter, you enter the place by asking to pharmacists since it is a still functioning pharmacy.
